Vinyasa Yoga
My classes combine an alignment based Vinyasa Flow practice with Buddhist principles of mindfulness and compassion.
Vinyasa means “To place in a special way” So in this class we practice placing our attention on the breath, the body and the mind. Noticing everything that happens on the way.
Ever been to a class which moved so fast that before you were "in" a pose you were told to move on to the next thing? In this class we practice SLOW enough to inhabit the poses and find clarity in the alignment but STRONG enough that you'll feel challenged and fully engaged.
Some previous experience of vinyasa yoga would be beneficial but not essential for you to enjoy the class.
I offer monthly small group complete beginner classes - if you’re interested, get in touch!
Expect to work hard, get sweaty, unwind, learn more about yoga and have some fun!
YOGA FOR SPORT
Learn how yoga can improve performance and reduce injury;
poses and sequences chosen to create better alignment, stretch muscles, develop strength, stability, increased awareness and focus. We learn to utilise the breath for increased efficiency and mindfulness in training.
Yoga for sport can act as a physical 'post it note' by learning more about our bodies we can decide to pay increased attention to our discoveries away from the mat - reminding ourselves to roll, book that massage, or spend more time stretching or strengthening specific muscle groups.
If you are interested in having me teach private group or individual yoga tuition get in touch - I'll be happy to hear from you!
